High Energy Electronic Music from Lesser-Known Masters of Electronic Sound
Juiceboxxx - Thunder Jam #3
Thunder Jam #3 is just one of several gems on Juiceboxxx's 2005 release, "R U There God?? Itz me Juiceboxxx." With electric beats and an 80s-style cadence, Juiceboxxx is a Milwaukee, Wisconsin based rapper and producer whose musical output is a brilliant and original synthesis of hip hop now and throughout history. The recordings have sense of humor and DIY feel that makes it a standout among a myriad of overproduced hip hop albums. What does not come through on the recordings is that Juiceboxxx performances are raw, real and full of the energy of a true entertainer.
Brian E with The Egyptian Lover - This Nu Electro
Brian E collaborated with The Egyptian Lover on This Nu Electro on the compilation Street Sounds Nu Electro Volume 3 Part 1. "This Nu Electro" has a visceral beat and classic electro sound that will make the listener apt to buy some strobe lights and dance like a robot.
The Egyptian Lover, also known as Greg Broussard, was one of the pioneering DJs of the Los Angeles hip hop scene in the 1980s. He is one of the pioneers of a style of music called Electro, which preceded hip hop in its development. His most recent full-length release, Platinum Pyramids, was in 2006, with releases in 2009 and upcoming releases planned for 2010.
Influenced by classic electronic artists like Giorgio Moroder, Kraftwerk and Magma, as well as Michael Jackson, Brian E is an up-and-coming DJ and electronic artist from Escondido, a city outside San Diego, California. Brian E has performed in Astra, PEA and Birdzilla.
Android Lust - Stained (remix by OccultTechnologies)
Elegant and moving, the OccultTechnologies remix of Stained by Android Lust is a must hear electronic track. It combines a danceable dark beat with unique vocals accompanying. Like Trent Reznor is Nine Inch Nails, Shikhee is Android Lust. Android Lust are a glitchy-industrial darkwave-type music project that hails out of New York. Active since the mid-nineties, Android Lust recently completed a tour in support of their recent album release, "The Human Animal," which came out on July 22, 2010.
