What is the Peninsula Park Rose Garden?
The Peninsula Park Rose Garden is a small paradise for anyone who loves roses. The Rose Garden is located on a hill above Portland, and you can take a great landscape photo of the city from here. The Rose Garden itself is fairly large and is filled with thousands of different types of rose bushes, which you'll also want to take pictures of.
Yes, the rose bushes are the main attraction here, so if you suffer from allergies you may want to avoid visiting. In addition to roses, there are many interesting types of architecture and fountains to observe. Walkways also exist so you don't need to worry about getting mud on your shoes.
The trees that surround the Rose Garden are another exotic charm that enriches this park. The trees are so lush and vibrant, you'll definitely want to include them in some of your photos. There are several varieties of trees in or around this park, so don't worry about repetition.
Getting there.
To get to the Rose Garden, you have several different options. One of these options is to simply drive to the Rose Garden on your own, or you could hire a tour guide. That's what I did. The Peninsula Park Rose Garden was something that the tour guide said could not be missed, and I'm glad he insisted on me seeing it.
Other ways to reach the garden are to simply walk or ride a bike if you're close enough. Portland is very pedestrian friendly(especially for bicyclists), so don't worry too much about your safety.
The cost.
It's free! Yes, that's right visiting this park will cost you nothing. You'll only spend money on gas or a tour guide(if you choose to hire one). I believe there is a gift shop on or near the premises, so you might spend some money on a souvenir. But other than that, it's a free trip.
So if you're an avid rose fan then check out the Peninsula Park Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon. Not only will you come away with a lifetime of memories, you'll also save some money too.

Post a CommentYou're talking about the International Rose Test Garden in Washington Park, not Peninsula Park (although there is a rose garden in Peninsula Park). Washington Park is on a hill in West Portland; Peninsula Park is in North Portland, which is pretty flat. The pictured sculpture is in the Washington Park rose garden.
