As I stated above, Schlitterbahn is located in the city of New Braunfels, Texas. The nearest major cities are Austin and San Antonio. The waterpark starts opening its doors in the last few days of April, and closes them in the latter part of September. The hours of the waterpark are usually 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. As for fees, they are not too bad. For more information about hours and fees go here.
Oh, and don't bring glass bottles or alcoholic beverages on your trip because both are banned inside the waterpark. The glass bottles are banned because the waterpark staff doesn't want people stepping on broken glass(most people are barefoot), and the alcohol is banned because the staff doesn't want anyone to be drunk on their rides. The risk of injury is far too great.
Schlitterbahn is a gigantic waterpark. I used to visit it all the time when I was younger, and the trip was one of my favorite things to do during summer vacation. There is all kinds of stuff to do at this waterpark, but one of my favorites was the inner tube rides. There are several different inner tube rides to go on, and they all vary in length. I believe the longest inner tube ride is about thirty minutes to an hour long.
There is also the The Boogie Bahn ride. On this ride, you try to keep yourself on top of your boogie board. You are launched from a small pad, and the rapidly moving water tries to sweep you away. And you will be swept away, eventually. I believe the longest that I ever managed to last was about thirty seconds or so.
Another one of my favorite rides was this moderately sized swimming pool that was unlike a normal swimming pool because it had huge waves in it. The waves supposedly mimic the turbulence of the ocean, except you don't have to worry about sharks. I would always try to go to the very back of the pool because that was where the biggest waves were. For some reason, the waterpark would stop the waves every hour or so. This is when I would find another ride to go on because an ordinary pool is just boring.
The slides at Schlitterbahn are another fun ride to go on. You basically climb high up, and go down a twisting slide. Sometimes you can take an inner tube with you, and sometimes you can not. But it's a lot of fun either way.
If you decide to visit Schlitterbahn, you will not be disappointed. You will have so much fun at this waterpark that the time will pass extremely quickly, and you'll find yourself wanting to go back again and again. You'll never become tired of this place.
