Exploring Tokyo's Charms by Visiting 5 of Its Best Non-tourist Sites

Robenson Louis
Tokyo, originally named Edo (estuary), is the capital and largest city of Japan. It is a beautiful destination for pleasure, vacation, and exploration. Its non-tourist sites are gorgeous. A visitor will be excited after visiting Shinjuku, Tokyo Tower, Rainbow Bridge, Shibuya, or National Diet Building.

Do you have an itinerary?

If you think you do not need a tour guide to provide you with assistance regarding your visit, then you will need an itinerary along with a tour plan. Depending on how many days you'll spend in Tokyo or Japan, the following non-tourist sites may be helpful to you. They are among the best attraction sites to explore.

1. Visiting Shibuya Station

Shibuya Station, located in the fashionable district of Shibuya, opened its doors in 1885. It is an excellent piece of art, and the third busiest commuter rail station in Tokyo. More than 2 millions passengers use this station weekday. Visitors will be amazed to observe an underground river running under this station, and Hachiko, a statute of a faithful dog "who possessed legendary loyalty to his owner".

2. Shopping at Omotesando

Omotesando would be my second best non-tourist site to visit in Tokyo. Almost all the international fashion brands are represented such as Gap clothing, Ralph Lauren, and Louis Vuitton. Laforet Harajuku, which consists of seven floors shopping complex, and Oriental Bazaar are part of this upscale shopping market.

3. Discovering Odaiba's Beauty

Originally a series of 6 defensive fortresses to secure Tokyo, Odaiba is a wonderful attraction sites. It is my third best non-tourist site recommendation. While exploring Odaiba's charm, one can enjoy the visual appeal of the following sites: Fuji TV studios, Palette Town, Venus Fort, Odaiba Seaside Park, Toyota Mega Web, Zepp Tokyo, Aqua City, The Museum of Maritime Science, and Daikanransha.

4. Exploring Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden

If you like to see cherry blossom while visiting Tokyo, Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden is an ideal destination. Originally the residence of the Naito family, its gardens -which are 58.3 hectares in size have more than 20,000 trees- are a mixture of French formal, English landscape, and Japanese traditional styles.

5. Realizing a Tour of Mount Fuji

Mount Fuji is an attractive and elegant sightseeing site. It is surrounded by five incredible lakes. The only inconvenience may be the weather that keeps changing. If you cannot determine the right time to visit Mount Fuji, a tour guide will be necessary. The following months are not appropriate for a tour of Mount Fuji: June, July, and August.
