My heart is laid open;
Pinned upon my sleeve;
Exposed to the rain;
Bruised by insults;
Broken by betrayal;
Singed by rejection;
Trampled by arrogance;
Ignored by the world;
But it is here;
It will not lie to you;
It has nothing to hide;
What it feels is poured out;
Ink upon white paper;
Can you feel it?
Sometimes in truth so real;
It frightens the unreceptive;
But it knows no other way;
It begs for forgiveness;
It doesn't mean to embarrass;
It cannot help its boldness;
A heart that is tired of searching;
Yet it never stops looking;
Love that lays waiting,
For another heart to claim it
