Express "Editor" Pants Are a Great Pant Pick for the Average Size Woman
Great Fit, Wide Variety, Top Quality
Express's "Editor" pants are advertised by the company as "The best fitting pants in America," and that claim is pretty right-on. The sizes are accurate, and instead of basing their size chart on vague "small-large" scales or confusing European sizes, they use the standard even-numbers system that American women have come to expect. Though size expectations may vary by the wearer, their sizes didn't seem too extreme to either spectrum, and were basically true to size.
The Express "Editor" pants come in a variety of fabrics and styles, ensuring wide appeal. The cotton version with a wide leg was my favorite, as it had movement and comfort. The "Editor" pants also come in fabrics such as wool and polyester, so you can pick your own favorite feel. Best of all, each pair comes with just a bit of spandex in the material to ensure a comfortable (but not cheap-looking!) amount of stretch - just enough to hug the best of your curves. Pick your favorite style as well, including high-waist, low-rise and flared to truly personalize your pant.
Some of my shorter friends have found that they needed to shorten their "Editor" pants. This is easily done at your local tailor or dry cleaner for under $10. You can also check for length varieties within the "Editor" pant selection, as some types come in short and long. Again, these size selections are very true to size; the short will be just about right for someone who is 5", while the long should fit those 5'7" or taller.
The only real downside of the Express "Editor" pants is the high price tag, but no one ever said quality came cheap. This fashionable pick can run anywhere from $70-$80, a bit of a burden for even the most carefree spenders. You can lower the price tag, though, by watching for Express's frequent sales. A few times a year, they have a sale specifically on their office wear, including the "Editor" pants. You can also sign up for Express's mailing list, and use their often-mailed coupons to knock down the price. Their most common coupon features $20 off a purchase of $60 or more, taking a significant chunk out of your bill. Finally, check the sale rack! The "Editor" pants go on sale often, and if you're an uncommon size or have eclectic taste in colors or fabrics, you're sure to find a pair you like for a lowered price.
