Expressing Your Opinions Online Using Common Sense

Human Race

As members of the human race, we all have opinions. We have a right to have our own opinions. Now, whether or not we share our opinions with others; is a personal choice.

Opinions

We can have opinions of others and share them with our close friends.

Expressing Opinions Online

When it comes to expressing our opinions online; I think some common sense needs to be used.

Common Sense

Here are some rules of common sense to think about before posting any of your opinions online:

1. Only say things online that you would also say in person.
2. Remember, just because it's online doesn't mean that it doesn't affect other people's thoughts and feelings; because in reality, it does.
3. If it would hurt the person if said in person, it will also hurt when said online.
4. While you do have a right to your opinion, you don't have a right to trash somebody else online or otherwise.
5. If you do trash somebody online, there are legal consequences; be aware of them.
6. Be nice.
7. Treat others the way you would like to be treated.
8. Treat others with dignity and respect.
9. Other people may be dirty and mean at times but, you can show that you are a stronger person by not sinking to their level.
10.If some people need to put other people down just to make them- selves feel better, I feel sorry for them.

    ANCHOR SHIP
    STORY

I had a dream/nightmare this is our story.
One day while sailing I saw a great ship.
The ship was grand and elegant, it sailed many waters in the area I lived. This ship was many things to a multitude of people. I often had a chance and did work with the great ship. You see the ship was also a trading ship. I and my colleagues all worked with the great ships.
One day I was talking to one of the officers on the ship, he said to me “join our great ship and you to will prosper greatly”. I said to myself “self why not, you could do much worse”.
So I and my family joined the great ship, many days we road on the upper deck proudly. I did however note, that I was never allowed below deck. As time went on, I noticed the storms became much more ominous. We did our best to protect ourselves from the storms and still had many glorious days of sunshine and happiness.
We were all expected to work, to maintain our right to sail on the great ship and we all did work hard and long hours, gladly. Each of us had our task, my task was as a carpenter. I built many grand structures for the ship, which I am still proud of to this day.
Then one day I noticed my strength was diminishing. What I didn’t know and was to find out, is that the administrators of the ship, through carelessness and greed had allowed a disease on board the ship. You see this disease had infected many great ships such as the Anchor ship. No matter how hard I or any of my colleagues tried, this disease blocked our progress and limited our production.
The administrators of the ship said, this didn’t matter to them. Even though they, through their carelessness, had conveyed the disease to the ship, and now as time passed they also knew they had created the problem, they still insisted that we maintain our work orders, as they expected.
I watched one by one as many of my colleagues were thrown overboard, for not maintaining their work on the great ship. This bothered me greatly but what could I do? If I complained, I too might find myself overboard. So I kept quiet and did my work as best I could, but every day that passed the disease toke its toll. I went to the ships administrators and they said this was not their problem, it was mine. Again I said to myself “self you joined this ship freely, so it must be your fault” and I went back to work and worked as hard as I could.
Then that fateful day came when I and my family could no longer do our work. We pleaded with the administrator and officers of the ship, they laughed and said “ do your work or we will throw you off this ship” I said to myself “ self you need to do what you can to prepare yourself and your family for the day when we will be thrown off the great ship. So I did everything I could to protect my family.
Since this dream turned into a nightmare, I and my wife have spent many sleepless nights. As of now the dream/nightmare is at a standstill and I have no further story to tell. I am pretty sure how the story ends. I am pretty sure we will end up in the dark waters.
I have spoken to others that have entered the water’s; they say that between the waves they have seen the pirates’ emblem on the ship’s hull as it passed them. They say, they have also seen below deck. The lowest of decks is reserved for those who could not do their work on the upper deck. They either row or serve the officers and administrators on the ship. They say there is another level just below the deck with laughter, joy and mirth, but that the disease has infected this level also.
I know our fate is to enter the dark waters, I know we will need to rent a boat to keep ourselves from the bottom. You see, we will not be allowed on land. Land is reserved for those that don’t need to tread the waters and there is no room for us on land. We hold no bitterness for those who walk on the land, our for those that still ride the great ships.
We have also heard that if we get off the great ship and do not enter on to another, the disease will leave use. This now is probably our only hope! This is a sad story but I know, we will have a happy ending. I hope only the best for the rest.
To the administrators and officers of the ship, I would like to say, I only spent about 2 hours composing this story, so I did not take of your time that I should be working on the ship, most of this story was created during my sleepless nights that continue to this day.
Please forgive any mistakes in grammar or sentence structure; you see I am only a carpenter.

Good points here. It's amazing how nasty some people can be while hiding behind a computer screen

Good advice. Some bloggers get into trouble in their food review blogs when the restaurants want to sue them.
