First let us check the trial period left for your Windows Vista if you are using one. In order to check the same, right click on the `My Computer' Icon present on the desktop and click `properties'.
Or
Click the Start Menu Button and right click the `Computer icon' and select `properties'.
A window will open up and there you will notice the amount of days left for activating your windows after which if you don't activate the windows then your windows will stop working.
Now, you have seen the number of days left to run your windows, let us learn the trick to increase the trial period to 120 days.
Press the `start menu' button on your keyboard or click the `start button' to open up the start menu and type `cmd' in the search box. You should have administrator rights to perform any operation, so, press `Ctrl+Shift+Enter' to launch the command prompt in administrative mode.
At command prompt window, type "slmgr -rearm". Ignore the double quotes while typing.
Press Enter key and wait for 30-60 seconds after which a windows will popup telling you to reboot the system. Reboot your system in order to reset the trial count back to 30 days. You can check the new information about your trial days left for activation by right clicking the computer icon and selecting the properties option. There you will notice that your trial period has been set to 30 days.
You can use this trick only 3 times so it is better that you try this trick when you have only 1 or 2 days left for activation. This way you will be able to enjoy the 120 days extended period.
Note: You might have heard of a 1 year activation patch that allows you to use Windows Vista for a period on one year without having to register it, but let me tell you that such patches are unsafe and must not be tried as they might cause harm to your system and it might be possible that you even lock your computer system. It's better to buy Windows Vista rather than hacking the same as hacking is illegal and you might be punished for the same.
