Extended Free Parking Coming to Downtown Palo Alto

Living in Palo Alto, we are all familiar with the pains of parking restrictions in the downtown area, making shopping difficult at times. Now that the holidays are coming, the city has added a little cheer to our local holiday shopping.
Starting on November 15, 2010 to the first of January 2011, we will be allowed to relax and shop at our leisure. The city will allow you to "park up to four hours for free during the holidays in public City parking garages," according to a city release.

The garages locations are:
--Garage R- Alma and High Street
--Garage S/L- Bryant and Lytton
--Garage CC- At the Civic Center
--Garage WC- Cowper and Webster
--Garage B- Ramona and University

The only exception is "designated permit spaces. All day parking permits are available."
This is in an effort to encourage you to come down and enjoy all the holiday cheer of Downtown Palo Alto and to discover great new places to park in the city garages, rather than on crowded city streets.
