Employers look for good leaders. A leader will not have to be told what to do and will be willing to take the initiative when things need to be done. Clubs teach teens to be leaders. They give teens the opportunity to be in charge of important projects and speak their opinions on what needs to be done. Good leaders are in high demand. Clubs make sure a teen is capable of being a great leader.
~Teamwork
Teamwork is vital in the work place. Clubs teach fellowship and the importance of working together. To get projects done on time, teens must work as a team to get everything completed. As projects are finished, teens feel great about the work they have accomplished and learn just how much more can be done by working as a team.
~Responsibility
Extracurricular clubs are not just about having fun. Clubs teach teens to be responsible. When working on projects, teens are expected to complete their part so the entire project is successful. No one wants to be blamed for the project's failure, so they are responsible and do their part. This responsibility will carry on in other areas of the teen's life. A job will expect a teen to be responsible and will be more likely to hire a teen if they see extracurricular clubs on their resume.
~Interests
Clubs help a teen to decide what they are really interested in. They can then spend more of their time involved in clubs dedicated to their interests. This will provide them valuable experience in their chosen field. This experience may very well make them better qualified for a job than other candidates.
~Confidence
Clubs build a teen's confidence. With the responsibilities and fellowship, teens gain confidence with every activity and project that is completed. Confident individuals are always make great job candidates. Confident teens are able to handle criticism which helps them make positive changes in their lives. Employers know that confident people will work harder, which leads to promotions and even better jobs for teens and the adults they become.
Teens that can add extracurricular clubs to their resumes will look more qualified than those that can't. With the variety of clubs available at school and in the community, teens will have no problem finding something they enjoy. After all, teens will learn more from doing something they love.
