This 2010 film will make you "cry, laugh and cheer all at the same time!" in regards to the human spirit and what lengths men and women will go through just to save their children from dying. "Even if it means giving up everything in life?" Be sure to bring plenty of tissues while viewing this delightful and truly loving modern family day film to the theater!

Executive producer of the film Harrison Ford also played the part of the 'Ironic" Dr. Robert Stonehill, medical research scientist. Brendan Fraser (John Crowley) is a bio-technology executive of a large corporation, whose (2) two children are afflicted with the Pompe Disease, (also known as acid maltase deficiency) which at the time had NO cure for.

John Crowley and his beautiful wife Aileen (Keri Russel) spent years and years trying to find a cure for this often-times genetic deadly disease for their two children shown in the film as ages seven and nine. Unfortunately, born with this lethal and extremely expensive health-care problem ($40,000.00 per month) called "Pompe Disease" caused by a deficiency in the enzyme Acid alpha-glucosidase, which is needed to break down glycogen (related to sugar.)

One day highly paid executive John (Brendan Fraser) is sitting at a board room meeting discussion and finally realizes 'he has got to find a cure for his two children?" Ups and leaves to another state to find medical research scientist Dr. Stonehill (Harrison Ford). Although, Dr. Stonehill is a genius, but has his own "strange" way of doing research with no monetary funding.

Meaning that he could care less about money and other scientist about what they have discovered regarding this incurable Pompe disease, (originally identified in 1932). John Crowley finally convinces Dr. Stonehill, "Your scientific theories have NO meaning if they never save a persons life?" His theories for a cure always remained on the blackboard because of lack of financial funding, but his findings was published through medical advertisements for some odd reason?

John Crowley, expert executive financial adviser, tells Dr. Stonehill that "you've got to find a way to get the financial research backing that you need" in order to continue your experiments which cost millions of dollars. Clever John Crowley and his wife Aileen starts the Pompe Foundation, collecting donations world-wide, eventually convincing others to join in.

"This is where this heart-warming film really begins?" Brendan Fraser shows all of his talented emotion and facial expressions trying to convince these gigantic financial backers of scientific research that Dr. Stonehill has TRUE and positive findings in his year after year research, even though other scientist have so-far failed in this particular research, mostly because of money.

Sometimes comical Dr. Stonehill (Harrison Ford) is somewhat hard-nosed and "weird" at times because he listens to the stereo loud, playing the old 1970's earlier versions of "Funk 49" by the James Gang and he also loves the original sounds of the Grateful Dead! played at an extremely high volume in his laboratory. (Harrison shows his great acting during these parts).

"Dr. Stonehill (Harrison Ford) was annoying to other scientist located in the same building after funding, because of his loud music and consistent non-team member to work with other scientist trying to find a cure for this incurable disease. Reluctantly, was removed from the team by the financial leader John Crowley. Dr. Stonehill was mad as hell as portrayed in the film!"

Dr. Stonehill finally comes to his senses? And realizes that this a cure to save human beings, especially children. (Ironically the film stated that most of these scientist had NEVER seen a person afflicted with this deadly disease). Dr. Stonehill analyzes the final results and is disappointed that his research was not the answer, but another scientist in the same building of research had came up with the remarkable beginning cure.

The last 30 minutes of This remarkable film will make you "cry, laugh, and even stand up and cheer at the end in the theater!" Because of what human beings will honestly endure just to save their children's lives at any cost. Harrison Ford and Brendan Fraser have truly played a remarkable film piece that will go down in history.
