Extreme Revenge from Ex Mistress YaVaughnie Wilkins Isn't so Simple

But Who is the Revenge Really Aimed At?

When a relationship ends badly and someone wants to get revenge on her ex, she might call ten times a day and hang up upon answer or spread some nasty rumours. Heck, in some countries she might stick pins and needles in a voodoo doll or beat and burn an effigy. Not my thing, but whatever floats your boat.

YaVaughnie Wilkins recently got creative in her revenge on Charles E. Phillips, president of Oracle Corporation and a member of Obama's Economic Recovery Advisory Board. His crime: reconciling with his wife instead of continuing his eight-plus year affair with Wilkins.

Media sources say that her revenge was an attempt to humiliate Phillips by posting billboards in New York, Atlanta, and San Francisco to announce to the world that she is his "soulmate forever" and to promote a website that is dedicated to over a thousand photos of the couple, along with past love notes, articles written by Wilkins, and karaoke renditions by the two.

The website is currently not working anymore and the expensive billboards have been taken down, according to NY Daily News.

While it may have felt good to hear that Phillips was forced to admit to the affair in public, I believe that YaVaughnie Wilkins went too far. I'm sure that revenge is sweet, but her action ultimately hurts herself, Phillips' wife, and his son the most.

With that said, I believe that Wilkins' intention was not to humiliate Mr. Phillips. Women's minds are a tad more twisted than that.

The billboards and website only serve to portray him as a man capable of making a woman claim her undying love for him in public after their affair ended. This ability generally doesn't embarrass any man; these billboards are merely a nuisance for him, but only because they make his life difficult.

The billboards hurt Wilkins, but with an eight year affair under her belt, integrity probably wasn't too high on her list of priorities. It's safe to say that she is the type of person who will do whatever it takes to get what she wants - an admirable trait, if she were to put that type of energy to good use.

So what does she want? Ultimately, she wants her man back.

Having read excerpts from her essays in the NY Daily News article, I'd venture to say that she blames Phillips' wife for the reconciliation. Afterall, Wilkins obviously thinks that the wife is the mistake of Phillips' past and that Wilkins herself is his tru luv, or, ahem, his soulmate, as claimed on the billboards.

It seems clear to me that the billboards and websites were Wilkins' revenge aimed at humiliating Phillips' wife. She has to see these billboards looming overhead wherever she went, reminding her that the last eight years of her marriage have been a lie, just in case she was ever in denial about the extent of his affair. It's Wilkins' passive aggressive way of saying, "Give it up already!"

Very smart, this woman. Her intention would have been way too obvious if Brandy and Monica's "The Boy is Mine" was playing in the background. Right now, she can still claim innocence on emotionally attacking another woman.

If Wilkins really meant for her action to be a revenge on Phillips, she went about it all wrong and really should have spent the billboard money on some really good therapy.

Afterall, everyone knows that living a happy life is the sweetest revenge.

I think you're wrong about her wanting him back... I think she did this to show the world that he had lied to her and his wife. Also, if you look closely on the billboard the "You are my soulmate" quote is from Charles not Yavaughnie. It looks as though he said that to her. Just my thoughts.
