Ozark Extreme Adventure Racing is a non-profit organization geared towards competing and promoting adventure sports. The organization provides special training, events, and racing opportunities for anyone interested in adventure racing. The course can range from 25-500 miles, with the biker being more self-reliant. The race can last anywhere from a few hours to several weeks in length. The racing tests one's knowledge and problem-solving skills, to determine if the rider has what it takes to make it to the end.

Thrill-seekers can climb to the top of Pinnacle Mountain,which is located just west of Little Rock, Arkansas. Pinnacle Mountain State Park contains 1,980 acres of scenic land and is just minutes from Little Rock. There is a 1,011-foot peak at the top of the mountain. The state park requires all hikers to wear helmets before climbing the mountain. Climbing maps are available at the park's visitor center, and the hikers must sign a completed form before partaking in the sport.

Located just south of Mena, the Cossatot River is perfect for kayakers. This 12-mile long river features challenging water obstacles, including Class IV and V whitewater. At the Cossatot Falls, the river drops 33 feet in elevation within 1/3 of a mile. The Cossatot River has been labeled from several resources as being the "most challenging section of whitewater between the Smokies and Rockies". According to Down-River.com, Congress designated the Cossatot River as a "National Wide and Scenic River" in 2002.
