Extreme Survival - How to Survive the Coming of 2012

What You Need to Know About the Coming of Dec 21, 2012

David Tate
Many theorists are predicting the end of the world on December 21, 2012. If the end of the world came about as predicted how would you survive? If you happened to be one of the lucky survivors what would you do next? The world as we know it would not exist therefore, how would you continue to survive?

If you fail to plan then you have planned to fail. Could have, would have, should have thoughts would be racing thru your mind. Oh, that gift of hindsight. Thoughts such as these may be crossing your mind on Dec 22, 2012. Much wiser to consider the possible scenarios ahead of time and consider the outcomes should these predictions of the Doomsday come to be realized.

There are simple strategies you can take such as packing a survival bag in preparation for such events. When a woman is going to have a baby she packs a bag of needed items before the coming day of childbirth. Why is it any less important to prepare for a doomsday scenario? It's such a simple task and it doesn't need to cost much. If there is a cataclysmic event isn't better to be prepared and to be on the safe side?

Many organizations provide Survival and wilderness skills which teach you how to live off the land. Skills such as learning to create a fire, plant seeds and harvest your own foods. Many of these simple skills are now taken for granted because of the daily conveniences all around us. It's so easy to pick up food at the grocery store or purchase a meal. Survival skills have not been passed along and/or we just haven't taken the time to acquire them. In a doomsday scenario you would be going back to the beginning and starting all over. Modern conveniences would be a thing of the past. You would also want to move to a higher elevation and create a dome shaped living structure. Create an area where you can grow your own vegetable and fruits. You'll also want to stockpile seeds and plants of many different varieties. Stock up on canned goods and dried foods.

It would be inevitable that all previous communications and power sources will no longer exist so you'll want to have on hand gas fired cooking and heating equipment. You should have warm clothing on hand to survive in the coldest of winters. Items such as sleeping bags, blankets and socks and sturdy boots could become the most sought after items and could become items of barter. There will be no financial systems as we know it and most likely barter will be the means of exchange for other items of need.

As there will be no TV, radio, or internet so you want to consider having board games, cards and books on hand for entertainment. A musical instrument or two is what you may also consider having on hand. Most definitely you want to have a well stocked first aid kit on hand. This will be extremely important along with a manual on first aid. Also of great importance is to have a lot of water on hand along with water purifying supplies. Maps, compass and items such as shovels, picks, saws and other such tools and equipment. Knives and other weapons will also be of great importance for your survival and hunting as you revert to being a hunter and gatherer.

Take a moment to ponder these actions, better yet, start taking action and prepare yourself for a doomsday event. As they say an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure.
