EZ Combs Stretchable Double Combs Review

Kay Whittenhauer
I can't resist buying those "as seen on TV" products. This time, it was the EZ Combs. The commercial claims that they're easy to use, attractive and "better" than the standard hair clip that so many of us have been wearing for years.

The traditional, jaw-like hair clip has served me well for a long time. I love the convenience of being able to twist my hair around, clip it into place and get going. However, as the EZ Combs commercial points out, it's hard to drive with a hair clip on the back of your head. There's also the inconvenience of having to take it out if you want to lie down to watch TV, read or nap.

Enter EZ Combs. This product is absolutely brilliant! It has all the advantages of a hair clip and none of the drawbacks.
EZ Combs are basically two 3-inch hair combs held together by several crisscrossed bands. And they are easy (EZ?) to use to style your hair.

The package shows a few different ways to style your hair using EZ Combs. I don't like to read directions, so I tried to copy the styles on my own. I had a bit of difficulty keeping the combs in, so I had to break down and read the Step-by-Step Styling Guide included. Once I read the instructions, the combs stayed in and my hair looked good.

I've gotten a lot of compliments on the EZ Combs. Not only have I been complimented, but also it usually starts a conversation as other women have asked me, "How did you get them in? Is it hard? Where did you buy them?"

The big thing about the EZ Combs is that they're so much prettier than a hair clip. Another thing I like is that I can wear my hair in an updo or a ponytail.

EZ Combs come in four colors: caramel bronze, dazzling silver, Bermuda black and Sahara sandalwood. You can choose to wear a color that blends in with your hair, matches your outfit or sets the style off with color contrast. They come two to a package. I got mine on sale at Walgreen's for $4.99.

On a scale of 1 to 10, I rate EZ Combs a 10. Not only do EZ Combs have all the convenience of a hair clip with none of the drawbacks, but also they're a lot prettier, too.

I've seen these, but I doubt whether the product will hold my hair. I have so much of it, the EX comb might snap!
