The F2 irons from F2 Golf feature the same anti shank, anti twisting hosel design as their wedges. This Face Forward technology keeps the hosel out of the way to eliminate the shank and to also make sure that the face contacts the ball before the hosel gets caught in deep grass from the rough and around the green. The face and hosel design also make for not only more consistent, more forgiving hits, but keeps a very predictable trajectory from club to club. A progressive sole thickness keeps fat shots away while a innovative cavity design keeps the mass of the weight directly behind the ball for a very solid feel.
Just like the F2 Plus wedges, it took me a few swings to get used to the look of seeing this setup in an iron. They featured the same basic design as the wedge and were very easy to hit from any lie, including the deep rough. I felt they were even a little more easy to get through the high grass than the wedges were. Working the ball was surprisingly simple to do with this set as there is not much offset in the hosel itself. This also makes hitting the ball high or low more simple as well. I did try the big test, and this was to actually try to shank the ball on purpose! I could not do it from a normal lie! The shots on the heel lost a bit of distance and direction, but no shanks!
If you need help getting through the rough or something to prevent you from shanking the ball into the next fairway, give the F2 irons a try! Don't forget to check out my review of the F2 Plus wedges also! All you need to do is get over the look, and you will fall in love with these clubs!
