To make Christmas crafts using yo yo circles, you might want to use red and green circles. You can also use fabrics with Christmas prints. It's best to use quilting cotton for fabric yo yo circles, but you can experiment with different types of fabric.
How to make a fabric yo yo circle:
Before you can make yo yo crafts, you will need to know how to make yo yo circles. Start by cutting a circle out of your fabric. Cut the circle twice the size that you want the yo yo to be, and add a quarter of an inch for the hemming. So, if you want a yo yo that is 2 inches across, cut a circle that measures 4.25 inches across. If you want a yo yo that is 3 inches across, cut a circle that measures 6.25 inches across.
Hold the circle with the wrong side of the fabric facing you. Fold about 1/4 inch of the circle's raw edge toward the wrong side of the fabric and hold it down with a running stitch. Continue folding down the hem and stitching around the entire circle. After stitching all around, gather the stitches tightly. Then smooth and flatten the yo yo so the hole is in the center.

You can make pretty garland with fabric yo yo circles. Just make a bunch of yo yo circles in whatever colors you want. You can make the yo yo circles all the same size, or you can make several different sizes. Then thread a yarn needle with yarn, then with the yo yo laying flat, pass the yarn through one side of the yo yo and out the other side. Just keep stringing on the yo yo circles alternating size and colors in whatever pattern you want. You can also add other ornamental items between the yo yo circles if you like.

How to make a Christmas yo yo table runner:
Lay your fabric yo yo circles out just as you would for the placemats above, but make a long, narrow rectangle for a table runner. Stitch the yo yo circles together.
How to make Christmas yo yo ornaments:
Make a fabric yo yo and decorate it any way you like by adding colorful ribbon, glitter, buttons, bows, bells, etc. Then add a loop to the top by stitching on a piece of ribbon or by passing a cord through the fabric and tying it into a loop. Use the loop to hang the ornament on your Christmas tree.
