Want to go to a hip place that has great cocktails, music, a lively ambience and terrific Asian food? XSBaltimore is one of the places to be for all that. This restaurant has dining areas on three floors, with a first floor for sushi and cocktails, an express coffee bar, and even an outdoor dining area and a fourth floor lounge with couches for enjoying meals. The mezzanine and third floor have large dining areas. They have an incredibly full menu for breakfast, and for day and night with sandwiches, salads, soups, appetizers, entrees, and desserts. The drink menu is also extensive. For appetizers some of the choices are soft crab, edame, sushi, cali crab salad with cucumber, lots of tempuras, satays and spring rolls. Actually, the noodle and rice entrees sound much less appetizing than the appetizers, so it would probably be wise to mix and match some entrees for nighttime dining. Prices are very moderate, with nothing over $14. They have a jazz bunch several Saturdays per month. The sushi offerings are really extensive.

Minito's has been in existence since 1990, owned by Alex and Tammy Tran. It has had excellent reviews by the Baltimore Magazine and Baltimore City Paper Online.
Entrees include Donburi, grilled meats, and all sorts of tempuras and teriyaki dishes. Or order a bento box with complimentary miso soup. They have an extensive catering business too. Prices here are very reasonable here too in an atmosphere that's very Japanese with simple, clean lines and decor. They suggest calling for reservations and there is valet parking.
Jasmine Asian Bistro

Towson, MD 21204

This truly is a bistro, and it was one of the first of the city restaurants to offer a fusion of Asian tastes in blends that fit together perfectly. Spicy Korean, delicate Japanese and the lively lemongrass and herbal flavors of Thailand and Vietnam can all be enjoyed together. Mix and match any of a number of appetizers from miso wonton soups and barbecues, tom yum, or the kabobs and light Vietnamese spring rolls, and noodles. Entrees range from just around $8 to under $20. Wok fried dishes, special noodle dishes are extensive. Patrons can get lemongrass-crusted tuna or pan-seared red snapper cooked on grills in the kitchen. But their special "signature" fare is the own unique rolls with lobster claw, broiled eel, soft-shell crab tempura and veggie editions with avocado, cucumber, asparagus or sweet potato. This place was voted the City's Best in routine AOL polls.
