Fabulous Dips for Snackers

Dippers Can Be Delicious, Easy to Make and yet Healthier

LP Fan
Dips can make snack more delicious and interesting. There are various snack dips available in our daily supermarket nowadays. Store brought dippers contained too much preservatives, high in salt or fat, and non-natural colors and flavors. You may find low fat dippers in your local market but they still contained commercial ingredients.

Here are some of the snack dips you will be able to make at home easily. These dippers go perfectly fine with any snacks like vegetable sticks or fruit slices, crackers and tortillas chips.

Avocado Dip
Take 2 ripe avocados, scoop the green flesh from the shells and mash until smooth and creamy. Add lemon juice, salt and pepper to taste. You can choose fat-free plain yoghurt or low fat sour cream to be added. Mix well and chill until ready to serve. You may top with some shredded cheese before serve.

Tomatoes Dip
Finely chop 2 fresh tomatoes and put into bowl and mix with 1 cup of low fat/calories sour cream. Add lemon juice, salt and pepper to taste. Add in 1 to 2 tablespoons of Italian or Pizza seasoning mix will give it a nice extra flavor. Please chill before serve.

Egg Dip
Prepared 3 hard boiled eggs and put them into water to cool down. Peel and finely chop the eggs, both the yolk and the egg white. Add some mayonnaise to taste, and mix with a little olive oil until it is smooth and creamy. Then mix in 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder, some salt and pepper to taste.

Asian Green Dip
Prepare all the following ingredients and mix all with an electrical mixer until creamy. Once ready, this dipping sauce is in light green. Please chill before serve.

1/4 cup chopped scallion
2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
2 tablespoons chopped fresh Italian parsley
2 teaspoons chopped fresh tarragon
1 tablespoon anchovy paste
1 cup low-fat sour cream
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper

Tasty Pineapple Cream Cheese Dip
Get 8 ounces of fresh pineapple, crushed and drained. Then, prepare 1/2 cup of chopped fine green peppers, 2 tablespoons of finely diced onions and 1 tablespoon of salt. You will also need 16 ounces of cream cheese. Use an electrical mixer to blend the entire ingredient together. Please chill before serve.

Most of my favorite dippers are made from fruit or veggie. Fruit and green vegetables are packed with fiber, antioxidant nutrients and vitamin C. The high source of vitamins (including antioxidant vitamins) will keep your immune system functioning at its best. Among all, Asian green dip is highly recommended.

The used of lemon juice is not simply for its taste. Lemon juice is a great way to preserve the color and stop the flesh fruit from going brown.

Remember to use low fat or fat free for all the sour cream, yoghurt, cream cheese and mayonnaise. You will still get the full flavor, but fewer fat and calories. You can definitely enjoy eating more with less to worry.
