Face Your Fears: Find Your Freedom

Albert Adler
Usually fear shows up in our life in forms of feelings and thoughts that we say to ourselves. Those thoughts may relate to our self esteem, t our place in this world and the reasons why we won't take actions. At first there is a mind chatter in form of complains, accusations and simply unrelated thoughts. If we are able to stop that mind chatter and be honest with ourselves we can find specific thoughts that are responsible for our fear. It is like an iceberg the upper part is hidden behind the mist. That mist is our mind chatter. If we stop that mind chatter we will be able to see the upper part of the iceberg. However the greater part of the fear is hidden under water - in unconscious mind.

If we catch a disturbing thought we can track it back to its source to the fear in unconscious mind. We can find it asking questions "Why?" and "What will happen if..?" With such method one can cut off the upper part of iceberg that allows the lower part to rise up to the conscious mind. This process gradually brings the unconscious fears up to the surface. It requires a serious effort to get rid of certain fear. However the results will be astonishing. All the situations related to that fear will live your life forever.

Limiting beliefs are thoughts that block our actions in this world. They are actual fears. Such thoughts are inherent in any person without exception. It's like a cage that build of limiting thoughts, and we sit inside of it. If we don't see that cage it doesn't mean we are perfect. It means we need to look closer at ourselves. We can create a very strong trap if we close our eyes and tell ourselves that everything is perfect. Doing this we block the way to solve the problem by hiding it from ourselves.

All the programming of our mind is done while we were children. We form thoughts and beliefs under influence of our parents, school, social groups, and religion. Everything forms our personal outlook.

Let's look at the process of our thought formation. If a person has grown up in the family that always experienced lack of money he will be experiencing lack of money for the rest of his life. If her parents got divorced chances are she will get divorced too. If a girls father was a heavy drinker most probably she will chose a man who will start drinking too.

The most powerful images from our childhood are the images of our family. If wife is stronger than husband she will turn her husband into someone like her father. If husband is stronger than his wife he will turn her into someone like his mother. It is only a matter of time and energy. Sooner or later those images will manifest in reality. In order to overcome it we need to become familiar with the laws that direct the work of our thoughts. Only through working with our thoughts we will be able to make our life the way we want it to be.

The problem is that our childhood impressions are ingrained almost on the cellular level. We model the behavioral patterns of our parents when we grow up. Therefore only intention and effort can change our lives.

American dream of rising from poor background to millionaire level has a very solid basis. People who managed to change their lives were committed to change their fate of living in poverty. Strong desire has overcome the childhood programming. They have created new thought patterns and managed to escape from poverty. That's the way our thoughts work.

It doesn't matter whose actions have ingrained in us certain beliefs. If we are sincerely want to change our life we can do it at any time. The only thing that required is to pay attention to our fears and limiting thoughts and keep asking questions like: "What should I learn from this situation?" The answer will come sooner or later. Never stop the effort to release the situation that you don't like. It can be not the effort in a usual sense. Sometimes we need to learn to be gentle and accepting. The solution to any problem will come. We need to be open for it.
