Facebook Closing Down -- ..?

The latest Facebook news is that the hugely popular social networking site would shut down on 15 March 2011. But it seems more than a rumor on Twitter and some blogs alone. Zuckerman statements can be found on the web, but non of it is verified, and it all seems to be part of a large hoax.

The value of Facebook is no longer calculated in millions but in billions of dollars. FB is one of the largest and most active communities on the internet. In year 2010 rated as the best website in the world and with an average of 500 million people use the site on a regular bases, you can't go wrong.

People world wide spend nearly a trillion minutes per month using Facebook.

So where did this rumor come from? The rumors seemed to have started after a post on the CNN website were was stated that the recent investments of Goldman-Sachs would be the beginning of the end.

As an old saying in marketing and advertising goes; "bad publicity is also publicity." And some companies have had world wide fame by bad publicity. Free Record Shop in Europe had for many years bad publicity, but they made the headlines and front pages month after month, and their shops got fuller and fuller, and is still the only main player in the record industry in some countries.

Recently Mark Zuckerberg the CEO for Facebook visited the Oprah Winfrey during a program where he sponsored 100 million dollars to an education fund for improvement of the schooling system in the United States.
