Facebook: The Face of Social Networking

Facebook has been around awhile but I have only just recently jumped on the Facebook bandwagon. I had previously got invites but kept ignoring them because I didn't know much about Facebook and didn't want to mess with it, but I am glad I finally decided to see what all the fuss is about!

I had only used MySpace as a social networking tool until I joined Facebook. Wow, was I surprised. I soon found out that a lot of my family and friends was already a part of the Facebook craze. It is really interesting and fun to reconnect with old friends I haven't heard from since college. It brings back a lot of good memories too.

Facebook has a lot of fun features. The Pet Pupz, Cute Catz and Happy Horses are fun. I never thought I would get much enjoyment of having a cyber pet but it is beginning to grow on me. They're just like real pets you know. You have to feed them and water them or they will kick the bucket!

I enjoy reading everyone's profile and finding out where they live. I actually found out that a friend from college is now a doctor! Another friend has lived in Paris! Very interesting and fun to learn. You can also check out pictures of their families.

The last few weeks my former classmates and I have been posting pictures of our college days. Now that is really interesting! You can also upload videos to share. Technology never ceases to amaze me.

Sometimes I wonder though if there is a secret competition on Facebook to see who can get the most friends. As with any other social networking site you still have to be careful on who can see your information. That is why I do like Facebook. You have to approve your friends and can control who sees what.

I don't know if Facebook is more popular thanMySpace but I feel like it is easier to use. At a glance you can see what your friends are up to as opposed to MySpace having to scroll thru all the messages. All in all, Facebook is great is quickly becoming the face of Social Networking.
