Facebook Games: No! Not the Games You Are Thinking Of

No, not Farmville or CafeWorld, but a more simpler Facebook game that is supercharging the air waves and has Facebook fans all over in participation. Unlike Facebook games like iHearts or BeNaughty, these new Facebook games are strictly amongst the fans and friends themselves. For the Fans, by the Fans! in other words. These new Facebook games have gained much popularity over the past recent months.

It first started with a game called Q & A. Someone would inbox a friend a personal question and that friend would in turn answer that question in Q & A format and post it to their status update feed. Example: Friend A inboxes friend B: "What is your favorite color?" Friend B then makes a post to their status: Q: "What is your favorite color? A: My favorite color is Blue." The game can be very interesting and seems contagious as everyone has been getting in on the action and seems to answer the queries regardless of how personal. Others viewing the recent post are also excited and eager to see the crazy type of questions asked of their peers and the responses to them. Quickly this game has spread like wildflowers, yet just as fast as it has grew, it also has died out within a few weeks.

A derivative of this Q & A game later came with the Numbers Game. This new, exciting and also fast growing game has caught on just as with Q & A. However, with a bit of a twist, this game involves a friend being inboxed a particular number. The inboxed person then post the answer or feelings of the person whom inboxed them starting off with their personal number. Friend A inboxes friend B-"# 555". Friend B responds with a status post of: "#555-I love and cherish our friendship. You are a good friend to have." The difference and exciting thing about this game is that it is more personable. Only friend A and B know whom each other are speaking of via the number, while everyone else who reads the post wonder on. This game has also had rapid growth amongst Facebook fans, but became somewhat of a bore and tiresome after a few weeks. Particularly for those with hundreds of friends. In many cases, it became somewhat of a part time job to answer questions or give thoughts about people in their friend's list of hundreds.

There is now a third emerging Facebook game, although it is growing rather slowly compared to its predecessors. A Facebook game, informally called "Four Words" is now emerging amongst Facebook fans. Even t.v. personalities are getting in on the game, with the participation of Kimberly, from the Your Carolina morning show with Mike and Kimberly. She made an announcement of her participation on one morning show and read off her results from Facebook fans that responded to her post. This game involves people answering questions about what they would say to someone whom they woke up next to while in prison. The twist here is that the awoken person only has four words to choose in their query or statement. Friend A asks: "If you woke up in a cell and saw me sitting next to you, with only four words to use, what would you say?" Friend B: "Too Much To Drink!" As this game is taking off slowly, it is still sure to hit the air waves amongst Facebook fans, just as the other Facebook games amongst fans.

No one knows for sure who is starting these trends, or if in fact multiple people are thinking alike and starting them simultaneously. The thing we do know is that there is much fun with these short lived, one hit wonder Facebook games.
