Facebook Pet Society: Tips for Catching Fish

How to Catch the Rare Fish in Pet Society

Kelly de Borda
Catching fish in Pet Society on Facebook is a simple deal - buy (or grow!) some food, go to the pond, bait your hook, throw your line, and haul in the fish! What could be easier, right? Well, it's not quite that easy, but I'm here to tell you all you need to know about catching that special fish!

Bait

The first thing you'll need to do is choose your bait. Any food that you buy in Pet Society's food store or in the Café can be used for bait. Another way to get bait is to grow fruits and vegetables in your garden. The trick is in knowing which bait is best to use, because some fish can only be caught with certain bait - but more on that below.

To catch a fish, the first thing you must do is go to the Pond. You can leave your house and walk through the streets - the pond will be just to the right of your house - or you can use the Short Cut menu to go directly. Once you get to the pond, you'll find yourself standing on a dock with your fishing pole in hand, and your trunk will be open to show you all the available bait inside. Click on the item you wish to use for bait, and it will automatically put itself on your hook. Next, click on your pet, and watch how it cast its line out into the water. After a moment, you'll see some splashing, and you'll know that something has grabbed your line! Click and hold on your pet to start reeling in. Every 2-4 seconds, you'll see the fish start fighting and splashing. When this happens, let go of your pet until the splashing and bubbles subside. Then, click and hold on your pet to continue reeling in. If you continue to reel while the fish is fighting, your line will break and you'll lose the fish AND your bait.
