Facebook Moms: Let me start by saying I am a facebook mom. I joined because several of my other PTA moms were on and I wanted to know what was going on. it is a way to keep in the loop. The facebook mom usually has flair on her page, especially a piece of flair with either a Starbucks cup or a glass of wine stating it is "mommies Sippy Cup." Facebook posts include everything from the lack of sleep they are getting to where the next playgroup is. The facebook mom loves to show pictures of her little ones and may even use their faces for her profile page.
Blatant Self Promoters: They are constantly talking about their business. If they are a realtor they will proudly tell you that they sold a house or had a showing. If they are Avon reps they will change their status to let you know that they are placing an order. Sure the occasional post about what they are doing business wise is fine, but these people are taking it to the extreme. They only update their status with business related items, don't appear to have a personal life beyond work, and are constantly trying to recruit everyone on their list to work for them or buy something from them.
Overly Friendly Facebookers: They collect friends like they are trading cards. They probably have never met half of their so called facebook friends. They often have interesting and/or witty facebook status posts which is why people who have only met them once keep them on their friend list.
I Love Me Facebookers: Glamour shot did their profile picture. They also have at least one hundred pictures of themselves on their facebook page. Several of the pictures are of them semi-clothed. Hobbies include working out, running, weight lifting, and applying to be on Tool Academy on MTV.
Know It Alls: The well meaning facebooker who constantly updates their facebook status with the latest news and their opinions on what is going on in the world. They go on tirades about the government and darn you if you don't agree. If you write something semi-political on your page you better believe that they will write back with their take on things, and their take is always right.
Bored Facebookers: They fill their days filling out surveys and finding out "What Disney Princess" they are. They take every test, pass you every bit of bling they can find, and are seemingly always on facebook filling out yet another quiz.
Sharing Facebookers: They love to give gifts. Which is sweet until you realize that you don't like 'Willy's Sweet Shop' and you don't want to be in a snowball fight or a sweetest person contest. Again they mean well, but your lil' green patch will survive without them.
Hopefully this will give you a good feel for the different types of facebook users out there and let you know what category you fall in, oh and if you are a blatant self promoter I highly recommend you start Twittering. More on that later.
