Facial Exercises are a Waste of Time

There are so many books and programs out on the market that claim that they have the best facial exercises on the market. The exercises are supposed to help lift up droopy skin. Actually some of these programs claim that if you do facial exercises that you will reduce your wrinkles. It is amazing to see how many people will flock to these claims and buy up all these books and programs. They claim to build the muscles in your face.

Well, the truth is that we really don't have that much muscle in our face to worry about builds up. Plus, our skin does not start to droop and have wrinkles because of muscles. Our skin starts to droop and wrinkle because we are starting to loose elastin and collagen. The older we the more our fat layers in our skin deplete. When we make certain facial movements or expressions over and over this is what causes the fine lines to appear. So don't be roped into their schemes!

Facial ligaments can be broken and that is another reason why our skin begins to wrinkle. Some facial exercise company's like to take advantage of this problem, because they tell consumers that their programs can help put facial ligaments back together. That is a lie. If any of your facial ligaments are broken, that is what plastic surgery is for. You can only have facial ligaments restored if you have an operation.

According to a study through the Department of Dermatology at Cleveland University there have been no extensive studies done to prove that facial exercise do any thing to help wrinkled and sagging skin.

Another gimmick to look out for is machines that massage your faces in order to build up or stimulate muscles growth under your skin. The problems with these crazy gadgets are they often bust the capillaries under the skin causing unwanted redness and inflammation. Of course the manufacturer of these gadgets never tells you this up front.

My encouragement is to stick with creams or Botox for now. If you do have problem with droopy skin that is starting to wrinkle look for products that have advanced ingredients. These advanced ingredients will claim to help boost collagen, provide more elastin and stimulate collagen production. Many of these manufacturers are pretty slick, but that I have told you the truth don't fall for these products. Always investigate products that sound a little too good to be true.
