Due to the tremendous potential of the FRT, the Government and Military departments are pressuring the utilization of the more advanced versions. The security measures in places like the airports, public transit and on occasions of game events like the Olympics need to be checked properly at a huge level. To ensure this the FRT is needed. For the past 7 to8 years researches have been done on a massive level to eliminate the few defects that have been noticed in using the FRT. As a result newer forms with features like texture analysis, 3D modeling and compensating for ageing features have been developed. This will pave the way for a safe and secure transportation, as wireless surveillance cameras can be fixed at any place or corner and individuals screened competently.
Those against the technology, site some of its earlier failures and poor performance levels. In response to these allegations, the researches made subsequently have resulted in finding a good solution that helps in appropriate identification process. This is true with all the appliances from the light bulb to the mobile phones that we use now. Pixar Company was the first to utilize the imaging technology and employ them in medical and governmental institutions. Even after two decades, the company specializes in the production of high level animations like Wall-E and Toy Story.
In future the reach of the FRT could go far beyond the security cameras. Facial recognition can find its uses in many fields like in the case of an ATM, where it can be used to identify the customer by his facial features and verify the credit card. This eliminates the usual procedures and ensures faster delivery. This may seem improbable as of now, but when computers were first introduced, they were giant sized and took up a large space. But now things have changed drastically and the same applies for the facial recognition technology. It is not long before they become an integral part of our day to day life.
