Facing Today's Problems

While Media and Politics is About Battles, We Need Real Solutions

While politics is always controversial, I have found it interesting to note that people with a certain political viewpoint have different brains than the other viewpoint. At least that is what I heard in a study. If this is true, then it is also true that all of this civil unrest about politics is caused by our brains.

While I am not a big fan of the media because I think they push fear and hate down our throats and are at least partly responsible for all of these recent bubbles and busts, and do it while saying they are unbiased. I do believe we need responsible media. And that if we can learn from others it is good and media can help. But I do not believe that it is good for young people to be exposed to the negative images they are bombarded with.

Is it any wonder why there is so much mental illness and obesity with all of these horrible shows on TV? They watch the shows, become depressed and are put on medicine which causes weight gain. While I may be exaggerating a bit, it isn't that far from the truth.

The problem isn't that we shouldn't have media, or politics for that matter. I honestly believe we need rulers and media to disseminate knowledge. But an unhealthy obsession with the news or politics isn't good either. And although I can think of a few reasons Liberals and Conservatives hate each other, I believe in the bibles saying Without vision, the people suffer. Or something like that.

I believe that America is still known for innovation. And that might be a liberal pursuit, But it might bring America back to its feet. And I believe that we need more answers to our problems and not limit ourselves to just one viewpoint.

The problem is, I have been told that some people want to be able to buy power. Without having to be elected. Now this problem might be as old as time. Politics started right around the first humans I believe. But it is up to the people to decide what they feel is the right thing for our country. But I know that businesses cannot function if they are taxed to death and can't compete with global economies.

My economics teacher said I was an economics genius. And if I was better at math, I might have considered studying it more. But certain things, such as low cost of goods and high productivity lead to the great growth we had seen. But just like anything, economics change. The high growth led to an increase in power costs. Slowing growth. And the bubbles wiped out any gains because people lost everything they had gained. So now what do we do with the economy in the tank?

There are no easy answers. But innovations and better technologies with a emphasis on the well being of mankind are essential in these times. We need more natural foods and less Genetically Modified Organisms. We need better emphasis on morals to prevent more Enrons and Worldcoms and financial crisis's. We need more people working on innovations that improve lives. Not cluttering them with gadgets. I don't know about you. But I am tired of all these bubbles and obsessions and trends and I want off the merry-go round.

Many people find all of this entertaining. They like fighting with each other. But a country divided against itself will fail. We need to be united states not red state blue state. I think we are doomed if we can't stop the hate. I follow Jesus and he said to love your enemies. Its not easy, but it's the only way.

  • These bubbles have destroyed the economy by wiping out any gains.
  • America needs to be able to compete.
  • I don't think the media or the government has very high approval ratings right now
I believe it is human nature that has caused these problems and I believe faith in Jesus can help. I don't think we can ignore our problems. I think blame and fighting isn't the answer.

5 stars. We won't agree on some of these points...and that's just fine...it seems to me that many of our troubles stem from internal, individual issues. We're looking too much to our 'rulers' when we really don't need to be ruled.
