Baby of Hippopotamus: A baby of hippopotamus is called calf. Sometimes calves are born in water. Their father (male hippo) is called bull & the mother (female hippo) is called cow.
Baby of Kangaroo: A baby kangaroo is called joey. The father (male kangaroo) is called boomer & the mother (female kangaroo) is called flyer. The baby Kangaroo stays safe and warm in mother's pouch.
Baby of Chimpanzee: The baby chimpanzee clings tightly to its mother with its tiny hands as she moves and climbs. The baby chimpanzee grows more quickly than you do.
Baby of Penguin: The mother penguin lays one or two eggs in a nest and when the eggs hatch, the chicks (baby penguins) have fluffy, grey feathers. During the cold winter, groups of penguins huddle together around their babies to keep them warm.
Baby of Turtle: Mother turtle lays about hundred round eggs. Then she buries them in a hole in the sand. The sand keeps the eggs warm. When the eggs hatch, the baby turtles slowly make their way to the sea.
Baby of Dog: Baby of dog is called puppy. Puppies need their mother's care, so for the first six weeks they stay with her.
Baby of Lions: The baby of lion is called cub. The mother lion can have two or three baby cubs. When they are born, there will be small spots on them. After few days, the spots disappear.
Baby Koala: The baby koala stays in mother's pouch for the first few weeks and then, when the baby koala is bigger, the mother carries it on her back.
Baby of Ostrich: The mother of ostrich lays larger eggs than any other bird. When the eggs hatch & babies come out, they are as big as hens. And only in six months they are almost as tall as their parents.
Baby of Crocodile: The mother of crocodile can lay as many as 30 eggs. When they are ready to hatch, the baby crocodiles break through the eggs with a special tooth at the end of their nose.
Baby of Duck: The babies of ducks are called ducklings. The mother of ducklings lays eggs and when they hatch, the ducklings have soft fluffy feathers.
Baby of Rabbit: The babies of rabbits are called bunnies. Their eyes come in several colors including pink and red. Their father (male rabbit) is called buck and the mother (female rabbit) is called doe.
