This kind of format helps the karaoke user to compare and practice his or her song from the original one. With this format, the vocals can also be removed from the song.

Most likely, the tracks contained on the karaoke DVDs are not based from the original songs instead the music of the songs are recreated. The process of recording the tracks is done with care by separating the music from the vocals. The result of the process would be a music sound that is very familiar to the original one.
