Wall mounted fish tanks are nice because they don't take up any room. If you are thinking of purchasing a wall mounted fish tank you will need to use the studs in your wall to determine where and how you hang the fish tank. There's a lot of weight on the wall so make sure that the walls can support a large tank like this. The good thing about having a wall mounted fish tank is that you will probably never run the risk of knocking it over. It wont be on the floor so you wont keep running into the fish tank. These fish tanks are wonderful for really small rooms where you do not want to take up free floor space such as a dental office.
The bad thing about these tanks is that they hang on the wall. If you slam a door or knock the tank off of the wall, you will shatter the tank. You need to be very careful when choosing a location and hanging up the tank. Another bad thing about the tank is that it would be nearly impossible to clean. It's hard enough cleaning a tank which is on your floor. Can you imagine cleaning a tank which was only 6 inches away from the wall about 5 feet off of the ground? This seems like it would be very difficult to do.
The good thing about the tank is that it's at eye level. You can walk over and look at your fish eye to eye. With regular fish tanks you will have to bend down to see the fish and look at the coral. If the tank is at eye level you will probably spend more time watching the fish. It's hard to bend over for a long period of time to look at fish.
One bad thing is that the tank is very thin. You cannot place fish in the tank that will get really large. You must keep little fish in the tank so it will limit the number and size of the fish that you can get. These tanks are also very expensive, much more expensive than your average freshwater or saltwater fish tank.
