Fado is authentic of an Irish Pub are you will find in the states at least that I have seen thus far. They have a crackling fire place, a cracked cobblestone floor, and rich dark woods for the bar. The bartenders and servers are always messing about creating a very happy go lucky atmosphere. They also carry a wide array of Irish beers, whiskeys, and scotch. They definitely know how to poor Guinness so you get the right foam consistency to truly enjoy your drink.
The menu is also absolutely delicious and varied. They have your standard Irish fare like Shepherds Pie and Bangers and Mash, but they also have smoked salmon, chicken boxty quesadillas, and salads. They also have the traditional corned beef and cabbage. If you don't fill yourself up on dinner you can also have a succulent dessert at Fado. They have great choices such as a black and tan brownie, or brown bread ice cream.
This bar is also perfect for the bar hoppers, with the comfy large booths or tall tables and outside patio you have your choice of places to sit and imbibe your favorite cocktail. The bartender has yet to be stumped by the variety of mixed drinks I ask for, from Sex with an Alligator to Lemon Drops. They also have sangria and Irish coffees.
The atmosphere and people are wonderful making it a great family place earlier in the day and a great hangout for friends in the evening. They also host parties all the time and weddings. One of the popular events they have are true to form Irish wakes. Of course it is also great for business meetings and reunions as well.
The open and friendly personality of Fado is its greatest asset. When leaving a sports event or concert at Coors field you can hop over to Fado and grab a spot to drink a lager or a shot. It is likely you will find old friends or create new ones while hanging out at this bar. This is definitely my favorite Irish pub anywhere.
