Faerie Moon

Tara M. Clapper
The wind came quickly
And the sun disappeared.
I watched the faerie moon in its
Silent, claiming conquest:
The time for witches is near.
Wolves howl
With the gathering of the bountiful harvest.

The curve of a farmer's sickle and scythe,
Eager like the pregnant year.
I am willing now, to savor the poise and pause--
Before snowfall.
