Fairy Dust, by Paris Hilton: Perfume Review

Jody Morse
After recently learning that a neighbor has access to free, early perfume samples, I knew that I had to test out Fairy Dust by Paris Hilton. The reason? I love celebrity perfumes. Now, don't get me wrong - there are a lot of great perfumes out there. For some reason, however, I seem to gravitate more towards the different scents that celebrities put out. Perhaps it's because I'm young and free spirited, or maybe it's because they simply smell really good. In any case, I got a sample of Fairy Dust. Here's what I discovered.

Concept

Personally, I think that the idea behind Fairy Dust is pretty intelligent. For those who have not seen the advertisement yet, it features Paris Hilton as a fairy, sprinkling dust as she flies into a gorgeous starry night sky. The name of the perfume seems ironic; could the fact that she has a dog named Tinker Bell have anything to do with why she decided to call it Fairy Dust?

Design

The design of the Fairy Dust perfume bottle is also pretty cute. The bottle does not really offer anything interesting, but there is a picture of a fairy in the center of it. The box that Fairy Dust by Paris Hilton comes in has stars on it, as does the tube that the body lotion comes in. Overall, I think that it's cute but, unlike with other perfumes, I wouldn't buy Fairy Dust specifically to add the bottle to my collection because of its appearance.

Scent

I absolutely love the way that Fairy Dust by Paris Hilton smells. It is very feminine and offers a very well-balanced combination of fruity and flowery. Some of the different notes that Fairy Dust contains include pink peony, orange blossom, water lily, vanilla crème, peach nectar, and gardenia. While I'm not sure which notes are the most dominant, I think that the perfume is sweet, but not too sweet and it's not too strong, but also not so subtle that its unnoticeable.

Price

In my opinion, Fairy Dust is moderately priced, especially for a celebrity scent. For 3.4 oz, you will pay about $55, depending on the specific retailer. I think that the pleasant scent is worth the amount of money that you will spend on it. Most major departments will soon be carrying this Paris Hilton scent, if they are not already. Be sure to check out Macy's, Bon-Ton, and Nordstrom's, as well as anywhere else that sells fragrances.

Although Fairy Dust by Paris Hilton is not my new favorite scent, I really do like it a lot. If you like any of the other Paris Hilton scents, then you will probably enjoy this one as well. Fairy Dust is my favorite fragrance from the Paris Hilton collection. Overall, I give this perfume 4.9 out of 5 stars and highly recommend it.

I absolutely agree! I LOVE fairy Dust, the bottle doesn't look as good as some of my other perfume bottles, but it smells amazing and definitely worth the $55!

I've not tried this perfume, but I must admit, celebrity perfumes do pique my interest from time to time. I have a bottle of Shania Twain perfume that I really like.
