Faith

Have Some

TA James
What is faith? Many of us contemplate this very word over and over again. This article is based on the faith given to us by the Grace of God. It is amazing how much we have to look forward to when we trust, and simply have faith that God will work everything out for us. This doesn't mean that we sit on your thumbs and do nothing,

God wants us to be active in our faith. James 3:20 says "But wilt thou know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?" This is telling us that we can't just sit down, awaiting everything to be just given to us. If we trust God and the way we live our lives show it, whether it is to help someone, or an attempt to obtain a closeness to God, we will always work in faith. Doing what God expects us to do. A prime example in the Bible is James 2: 21 "Was not A'bra-ham our father justified by works, when he had offered I'saac his son upon the altar?" This is doing what we know to be right even when the world tells us we're wrong this verse I hold strong to . 'Stronger is he that is in me, than he that is in the world".

The Lord also tells us in Romans 4:20 "He wavered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God." No matter how things seem to stack against us whether it be in the planning of a family, new business, protecting something or someone very important to us, standing up for someone, writing a book, or any numerous amounts of things, know that you need to be strong in faith and give glory to God. Let's look at it this way; do you know that money you found or was given when you had nothing and was wondering how you were going to make an important payment? You prayed and somewhere in the midst of your frustration you cried, "God, please help me." He did. Nothing is by chance and nothing happens just because. The devil would like for us to believe this but God's people know better.

Many may read this and want to know how can I, or anyone believe in something that they can't see and I have an answer in the form of questions.
Do you believe in air? Why? You can't see it.
Do you believe that there are planets outside of our own? Why? You can't see it.
Do you believe that a country you've never been to is actually there? Why? You haven't seen it.
Do you believe that there is a past that stems back thousands of years that you haven't seen? Why? You haven't seen it.
Do you believe that Abraham Lincoln existed? Why? You never met him.

Many of you might find those questions ridiculous because it falls under excuses of:
"I'm breathing aren't I?"
"Psshhh I've seen pictures of planets."
"That's why there's a such thing as archaeologist who discover what was in the past."
"I learned that in elementary school, and saw his picture."

Well I'll tell you this I know, God because I see Him in everything around me, in all of his creations and the love that is present in and out of my life. I can't see love, but I can feel it. I know God is in all that I hold dear and all that I see, and when I need him the most, that Jesus, his son, that promised to leave us with a Comforter before he ascended into Heaven (John), has done so to calm my spirit and soothe me. That is faith. Whether it is implied or not, blind or not. I have faith, because of what God has told me through his word, and the promises he has made to me.

Even in my own experiences when I felt as though the world is beginning to crush me and threaten me with losing my child, that he has shown me that he has the final say and all power as I said before a verse that I love "Stronger is he that is in me, than he that is in the world." My God, is in me. His grace and mercy restores me, and in my faith with all of my imperfections, personal, and not so personal obstacles he has told me, that through faith I have inherited his promises;

Galatians 3:22 "But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Je'sus Christ might be given to them that believe" vs. 29 "And if ye be Christ's, then are ye A'bra-hams offspring, and heirs according to the promise."

Hebrews 6:12 "That ye be not lazy, but imitators of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises." vs. 15 "And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise."

So remain strong and know through your faith, God has promised us all much, but we must believe, we must endure, we must be patient, we must have faith.

Faith is very important when nurturing the soul with words from God as well as his promises and the Comforter given to us by his son Jesus.

Faith is the only thing that keeps me going. I know Jesus is here with me at all times, and I refuse to believe otherwise. Thank you for a beautiful piece. God Bless T.A.
