Fake Nails: How to Put Them on with Perfection

Lia
Are you tired of having short nails that just won't grow? Want beautiful long nails that everyone will take a glimpse at? Well, worry no more cause you can always cover them up with fake nails. Of course, there's always acrylic but that's way too expensive! Fake nails are less than five bucks, compared to acrylic which costs more than thirty bucks. The cheaper way to go is a do-it-yourself at home!

Where To Start

First of all, go to your local store and pick out a set of fake nails. Depending on how you want your fake nails to look like, you can either buy the already decorated ones or the unpolished fake nails. If you want to paint them, then I suggest you get the unpolished fake nails. The most important thing to do is pick a set that will fit your real nails. Ones that don't fit will hang over the edge of your fingers. Most fake nail sets come along with nail glue but if there's none, then you can just buy it separately.

Clean, Clean, Clean

An important step on how to put them on with perfection is to wash your hands so they are clean. If you still have nail polish on your real nails, then clean it out with nail polish remover. Take out your set of fake nails. Determine which fake nails will go with what real nails. If some are too wide on the side, then you can easily file the sides of your fake nails so that they will fit your real nails.

Gluing Them On

Putting on fake nails does take time, so you want to glue them on one by one. When putting on nail glue, turn your fake nail around so that you can see the concave side. Put one tiny drop onto the center of your fake nail. Then slightly put the fake nail onto your real nail; let it be close to your cuticles but not touching it. Making your fake nail touch the cuticles will make it look very fake. Press on it slow with small pressures. Keep pressing on your new nails for a couple of seconds. Also, make sure there are no air bubbles. Repeat the same steps for the rest of your other nails. After you are done with gluing all of your fake nails, file and shape your new nails as how you would want them to look like. The end results are beautiful nails that no one will be able to tell if they are real or not!

I have used fake press-on nails for a long time now and I find that the best brand for me is Broadway Nails. The best place to get these is either Target or Walgreens. It takes a lot of practice to get the desired look but after you get the handle of things your nails will look beautiful.

I agree with you when you say that putting on fake nails takes time.I always get better results if I give myself a good hour to get my nails right.
