At the age of 45, Mora is one of the NFL's youngest coaches. Before coming to Atlanta he was the defensive coordinator for the 49ers and was a finalist for the head coach position before losing out to Dennis Erickson.
Falcon's owner, Arthur Blank made this statement on the Falcon's official website:
"This was an extremely difficult decision for us. We had the highest hopes and aspirations for a long run with Jim as our coach, but we feel this decision is in the best long-term interests of our franchise. I have great respect for Jim's passion for the game, and we wish Jim and his family all of the best."
There was speculation that this would be Mora's last season with the Falcons after a dismal 7-9 season.

Post a CommentI guess it is all in that small print that they tell you to read but you can't see. Or they still have to pay him, I am sure it would be one or the other.
"...released from his contract."??? What's the point of having a contract, if they can break it? What a crummy New Year's surprise. :(
