Falcons Lost Against Cardinals Defense

The Atlanta Falcons and the Arizona Cardinals faced each other at 4 PM eastern time yesterday. The stadium was closed which made the atmosphere louder. The announcers were hyped up and both teams were ready to play.

Matt Ryan threw an interception on the Falcons first possession. On the Cardinals first possession they threw about a 60 yard pass for a touchdown. Those first two possessions set the stage for how most of the game would go.

Overall Matt Ryan ended with 2 interceptions, and the team also had a fumble. Kurt warner had one interception that was his fault (it bounced off his receiver's shoulder and straight into the air).

Matt Ryan did manage to lead the Falcons on a couple successful trips up field in the game but the Cardinals defense was strong. There was hardly a play that Ryan did not have people in his face. The Cardinals defense caused turnovers and gave Warner the ball.

Ryan did settle down after the first quarter. Even though the Falcons do not move on, Ryan was well composed for the most part and proved that he deserved Rookie of the Year.

On the other hand, Warner has been through the playoff process and has experience. With two Super Bowl rings in his possession, is it any wonder that he came out and threw a touchdown pass deep up the field? Not really.

Both teams played well and the Falcons even started to mount a comeback. The Cardinals had great time management which helped keep Ryan off the field and forced the Falcons defense to pplay much of the third quarter.

It was a good game for anyone who watched it, no matter which team you were cheering for. It is going to get harder for all of the playoff teams to keep going. So, enjoy the time of year and tune in to the playoffs!
