Falcons Vs Bears: Las Vegas Line and Pick Against the Spread

The Atlanta Falcons 2011 season could be the best in their organization's history but they will be put to an immediate test in week one of the NFL season when they face the Chicago Bears in Soldier's Field September 11.

Matt Ryan and company have already been anointed as the team to beat in NFC despite the Philadelphia Eagles, New Orleans Saints and the defending champs the Green Bay Packers. Why is everyone so high on the Falcons? After this game in Chicago we may have the answer.

Chicago Bears Offense vs Atlanta Falcons Defense

Jay Cutler is under pressure from the get-go this weekend. The Chicago Bears fans are anticipating his desire to redeem himself in the eyes of the Bears fans. Cutler has more tools this year and he also has a healthy Matt Forte this season. This translates to one easy conclusion: Jay Cutler must produce.

The Atlanta Falcons defense struggled last season and was considered the weak link. The defense was strong against the run but vulnerable in the secondary in 2010. This season the Falcons run a base 4-3 defense but most importantly, they will have Dunta Robinson on one corner and standout Brent Grimes on the other corner. The Falcons defense will keep the Chicago Bears offense in check.

Chicago Bears Defense vs Atlanta Falcons Offense

The Chicago Bears defense impressed last season but they were weak against the pass. The Bears destroyed some of the best running backs in 2010 and they will feast on Michael Turner in week one. Where the Bears are beatable is deep. The biggest mistake the Bears made in the last three years was taking Devin Hester off the corner position. They have never recovered from the decision.

Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons offense will improve in 2011. They were slightly better than average in 2010. Passing ranked 15th among NFL teams and the running game with Michael Turner ranked 12th among the NFL's running attacks. The Chicago Bears defense will give Matt Ryan and the Falcons trouble and they will have the edge.

Atlanta Falcons vs Chicago Bears -1: Pick Against the Spread and Final Breakdown

The Las Vegas Hilton Superbook made the Chicago Bears a slight home favorite by one point over the visiting Atlanta Falcons. This may be the perfect number on this game because it is a straight up toss-up.

This game comes down to offense. The Atlanta Falcons offense is the better offense and they will prevail against a stout Chicago Bears defense. Consider this Matt Ryan versus Jay Cutler. Matt Ryan is a winner and Jay Cutler is, Jay Cutler. Take the Falcons +1 over the Chicago Bears but this will be a nail biter.
