Fall

Mike Spain

Summer's heat retreats

Leaves begin to change

Colors they create

Harvest on the range

Kids go back to school

Football games to play

Evenings start to cool

Summer would not stay

The air grows crisp

The leaves start to fall

Colds and flues add lisp

Frost will cover all

Summer took a fall

Winter lurks for all

Having never experienced seasons other than hot, hotter and hottest, you really brought the beauty and description so near to me through your lovely poem. Thanks, Mike - siva

    Beautiful Mike--
I was expecting a play on words as you stated your were "back" with a "Fall" poem. Something re: time falling back an hour!
