Cloche
A cloche hat is a bell shaped fitted hat that was made popular by Coco Chanel in the 1920's. Cloche hats are a great way to add sophistication to your fall and winter outfits
How to wear it: Cloche hats can be worn during the day or at night and should be worn pulled down over the head falling right above the eyes. Cloches are generally paired with more elegant outfits such as full skirts, dresses, trousers, and trench coats. If you are looking for an edgier look the cloches seen on the runways have featured feathers and embellishments.
Where to buy it: Urban Outfitters has many options of cloche hats and Nordstrom also has some including this feather cloche.
Military Hat
Military influence has been seen on the runway as one of the major inspirations for fall clothing. The military hat is a cap often made in a wool or herringbone fabric. This season the hats have had added gold hardware to increase the military style.
How to wear it: Military hats are generally worn with more casual looks. A t shirt and jeans or a long cardigan with boyfriend jeans would be a perfect look.
Where to buy it: Saks has a Juicy Couture military cap in gray and black. You can also find a military cap with this season's popular chain embellishments at Coach.
Fedora
A fedora is a brimmed felt hat that is creased lengthwise at the crown. We typically associate the fedora as a men's hat of the 40's.
How to wear it: While fedoras are often seen worn on women with a more menswear style outfit they can be worn with anything from maxi dresses to short and a t-shirt. This season the trend is to wear a more eye catching fedora than in past seasons. Bright colors are very popular this fall therefore pairing a brightly colored fedora with an outfit would be the trendiest way to wear this piece.
Where to buy it: Phoebe Price has a rhinestone and feather fedora that would add class to any outfit. Or try the bright straw fedoras from Searle.
