Fall 2009's Best Vintage Trends from the '80s

Fall 2009 will be a season that delights fans of the eighties. Some fun eighties styles are coming back to hang out with us this year.

Skinny legged pants with pleats at the hips are one popular fall trend. The really flared, dramatic ones were referred to as harem pants. For this fall they will be slimmer but still pleated and relaxed enough to be comfortable. I would suggest that anyone with a paunchy belly try them on and make sure to look from all views. They add emphasis and the appearance of extra weight right in the lower stomach.

A blouse style that looks good with these relaxed, pleated pants is the "off the shoulder" blouse. These cute blouses and dresses are "Flash Dance" inspired and they have been updated from their slouchy eighties look with a tighter, shaped fit.

Leggings and tight fitting skirts are another eighties staple that has returned for fall 2009. Pair them up with lace-up high tops or ankle high moccasins. Hip high bondage boots are hot this fall too.

The tops that look best with these form-fitting skirts and pants are eighties style bustier tops that flow into peplum skirts or seventies inspired handkerchief blouses (peplum and handkerchief dresses ill be hot too). Also back from the eighties for fall: jackets that look great with leggings and snug skirts. Whether you need a dressy jacket or a casual one - the vintage styles are going to be seen everywhere. Snug-fitting black leather jackets that have been in style since the fifties are still trendy. Super dramatic "Dynasty" shoulder pads with puffy upper arms that taper into skinny-cuffed sleeves are "bigger" than ever for fall 2009 jackets.

70's inspired ponchos have been modernized with a little bit of shape and have been renamed "cocoon coats." The hip high bondage boots and leggings mentioned earlier look adorable with these loose-fitting coats. If you're feeling really dramatic top it off with a big, unique hat.

One of my favorites from the eighties is back - neon - especially pink with black contrasts. Runway models were wearing snug-fitting neon pink dresses either with black leggings, tights, and thin black belts. For everyday life a neon pink accessory to add colorful accents to your darker outfits might be a better choice - more likely to fit in any situation. Expect to see a mix of flash as well as plenty of dark, classic colors.

Vintage styles from the eighties offer fun, drama, and flair for women looking for the hottest trends for fall 2009.
