The leaves are glowing florescent
yellow, red, orange, and brown
like neon signs in the night
lights in the rain, reflected off of black asphalt
everything burnt by the fire of summer
hungry for rest
yellow, red, orange, and brown
like neon signs in the night
lights in the rain, reflected off of black asphalt
everything burnt by the fire of summer
hungry for rest
The air is light and electrified
sublime and sweet like remembering an old love
the first one
and how much you miss them
truly and deeply
It crunches on your consciousness
like the leaves beneath your feet
And this season
it will pass too
but unlike an old love
it will always return to you
