Football fever with your favorite team
Fall is football season for Americans, and it marks the beginning of the holiday feasting frenzy. Fans have tailgate parties at the games where they grill out. Fans also invite friends to their homes to watch the games on the television while eating snacks and drinking beer. What's a better way to enjoy your favorite sport than to actually play it? Buy a football, or even a Nerf ball, and play a few rounds in between quarters or even during half time. Get your buddies to put on their favorite team's jerseys and be the ultimate fans by sweating it out. Fitness programs are easier to keep when your friends are trying to be fit with you. Not having a tailgating party or your friends over? That's fine! Exercise while you're watching the game. Do some crunches, lunges, jumping jacks, get the stationary bike out and ride it, or even walk and run on the treadmill. Exercise is easier when you're paying attention to the game and not how long you've been sweating for.
Get the kids and find some leaves
Fall is the season when kids enjoy getting outside and playing in the leaves. If you have kids and a yard with trees, you know how much work it is to rake them up, bag them up, and then throw them out. The kids just want to jump in them and throw them around. Why not do both? Spend quality time with the kids, rake up the leaves, jump in them, play in them, and then rake them up again. Run around and exert some energy, it's how the kids can stay fit. Don't have a yard? That's alright! Go to a park, walk around, collect some leaves. Make a leaf collecting game up with the kids. Go for a hike and see how many types of leaves you can collect. Fitness programs are easier to keep when you're having fun and getting the kids involved.
Fall is a great time to start up your new fitness program before the holiday feasting begins. Fitness programs are easier to keep when your friends are trying to be fit with you, you're not paying attention to how long you've been exercising, and most importantly, you're having fun while you're sweating. Try some of these tips and fall back into fitness during the fall season!
