With fall approaching it's time to start putting away the peep toes and start breaking out the boots. Fall can be a dismal time of year or you can invigorate yourself with some brand new stylish footwear.
Last year a big trend was the plain sheepskin flat boots. Everywhere you looked you saw them. This year, there's a lot of selection in the marketplace and I hope you take advantage of it. If you like the idea of the sheepskin flat boots, take it one step further and get something like the SM Amme Sweater Boots. These boots have the sheepskin on the bottom and then a fun crochet sweater look on the top. They're available in multiple colors and can be worn with anything that the plain ones could.
There are even fun rain boots out in the market. Don't just settle for a plain fire hydrant color, get some with a little bit of your personality on them. They're available with geometric designs, flowers, ladybugs, and the list goes on.
If you're looking for a pair of boots that you can wear at the office and not have to change them before stepping onto the parking lot check out the Etienne Aigner Eve Suede Ankle Boot for a reference point. It's the little characteristics that make the boot. Check out the heel style, you most likely don't feel comfortable walking all day in 5 inch stiletto heels. The comfort of a wedge makes any boot more practical, not to mention the darker shade of the material is a little bit classier and not so weekender looking. Pay special attention to the small details like the band at the top of the boot with a small buckle and bangle accent. The rounded toe is always a favorite and makes you not so intimidating in the office. The parking lot has nothing against these, the dark color won't show as much dirt or wet spots and the material is easy to keep clean.
Ladies, take it easy in the stiletto heel boots this season, most of us forget to use the practical side of our brain when we see an amazing pair of boots that is so gorgeous they make you blush. But when you put them on only to walk 5 miles in the snow and uphill both ways. Considering that fall is normally a wet time of year, make sure your boots have textured soles to avoid slippage and rubber soles will help prevent you from getting wet tootsies.
My final word of advice on boots this fall is don't forget to try them on. If the boot doesn't feel right don't buy. The last thing you want is a pair of boots taking up room in your closet that you don't even wear for the reason that they're uncomfortable.
Enjoy the fall boot season ladies.
