- Paper towels
- Painter's tape
- Krylon Indoor Outdoor Primer in All-Purpose White
- Krylon Indoor Outdoor Paint in Gloss White
- Krylon Spray Adhesive
- Krylon Crystal Clear Acrylic Finishing Spray
- Gingham print fabric
- Ruler
- Fabric marking pen
- Decorative edge fabric scissors
- Sponge brush
- White acrylic paint
- Paper plate
- Old newspaper and/or a large drop cloth

Gingham pumpkin directions:

Before starting, cover your work area with several sheets of old newspaper and/or a large sized drop cloth. Wash the outside of the pumpkin, in any size, with mild soapy water. Rinse the pumpkin well to remove any dirt or debris. Dry the outside of the pumpkin with paper towels. Cover the stem of the pumpkin using a couple strips of painter's tape.

Spray the entire outside of the pumpkin using Krylon Indoor Outdoor Primer in All-Purpose White. (Do not forget to include the bottom of the pumpkin.) Wait thirty minutes before adding an additional coat of prime to remove any orange tint that might still show through. Let the pumpkin dry completely before painting with three or more coats of Krylon Indoor Outdoor Paint in Gloss White. Allow the pumpkin to dry overnight.

Lay a piece of gingham fabric flat on your work area. Using a fabric marking pen and a ruler, create one inch strips directly onto the fabric. Cut out the fabric strips using decorative edge fabric scissors. Spray the back of one fabric strip using Krylon Spray Adhesive. Attach the gingham strip vertically to the side of the painted pumpkin. Leave a one inch gap and adhere a second strip to the pumpkin. Continue to do this around until the pumpkin is covered in gingham and white vertical stripes. Dry completely.

Remove the painter's tape from the pumpkin stem. Pour a small amount of white acrylic paint onto a paper plate. Use a sponge brush to paint the stem of the pumpkin white. Once dry, coat the entire project in several coats of Krylon Crystal Clear Acrylic Finishing Spray and dry overnight.
