Pumpkin Sun Catcher: What You'll Need
Most of the items needed for this craft are probably already hanging out somewhere in your home. You will need white tissue paper, white glue, glitter, yarn (orange and green), easy release aluminum foil, pencil, scissors.
This pumpkin sun catcher craft lets the kids get a little messy without making too big of a mess. That statement will make sense when you do the craft.
Pumpkin Sun Catcher: Make It
Place a piece of aluminum foil on the table (releasable side up) then place a piece of tissue paper on top of that.
Use a pencil to lightly draw the shape of a pumpkin. Don't forget to include the stem and the ribs on the pumpkin. Trace the pencil marks with a bead of glue then use your finger to lightly smear glue over the whole piece of tissue paper - notice the word LIGHTLY because the tissue paper will tear easily.
Cut lengths of orange and green yarn. Use the orange to follow the pencil/glue lines for the pumpkin's outline. Use green to create the outline of the stem.
Next sprinkle glitter over the whole thing. Peel the tissue up once or twice to help keep it from sticking, then allow it to dry.
Once dried, pull the tissue paper up then cut around the shape. Glue a length of green yarn on the back side of the stem for a hanger.
Hang this sun catcher in a window and enjoy this fun decoration. Make several of them to give to friends or family members or make several to create festive fall decorations. To turn the pumpkin into a Halloween Jack o'lantern, use glue to trace a small face on the pumpkin then go over the face with black yarn.
