Fall Escapes in Florida

The fall is a beautiful time in Florida. Just as the temperatures up north are sinking, the Florida skies are as bright and sunny as ever. Here are some fall escapes in the Sunshine State. Here are some fall escapes in Florida.

The fall is a great time to visit Orlando, Florida. The masses that piled into the city during the summer are all just about gone, and the thermostat is finally climbing to a temp that is near perfect. The theme parks are emptying just enough, so that you do not have to wait on long lines. And the restaurants finally have some available reservations. Orlando is a wonderful fall escape whether you live elsewhere in Florida, or just about anywhere along the east coast. Hotel and motel rates drop significantly during the off-season, and you can take advantage of some tremendous deals. And once you get down here to Orlando, Florida, there is plenty to do. Visit the Walt Disney World and Universal Studios theme parks, pay a visit to the resorts, dine at some fabulous world-class restaurants, tee up for some miniature golf, or just shop til you drop at some of Florida's greatest malls, outlets, and stores.

Another great fall escape in Florida is Tampa. Tampa boasts some great nightlife, magnificent dining, and excellent shopping opportunities. The weather in the fall is outstanding, and you can pay a visit to some stellar beaches, or go out for a boat ride or two. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are about to kick off a new season, as the Devil Rays with the worst record in baseball go into hiding. And of course, you will want to pay a visit to the world famous Busch Gardens. You can ride some roller coasters and have an all around great time at one of Florida's very best theme parks, an hour and a half south of Orlando.

St. Augustine is another great fall escape in Florida. St. Augustine is the oldest continuously occupied European-established city in the country. It lies in the region of Florida known as the First Coast, which stretches from Amelia Island south to Jacksonville. Check out old churches, lighthouses, county jails, and other historical landmarks, while soaking up the gorgeous weather. With plenty to see and do (as well as eat), St. Augustine is easily one of the best fall escapes in Florida.

Enjoy your fall escape to the Sunshine State!
