The 11th Annual Blue Ash Airport Days takes place at the Blue Ash Airport from 9am until 5pm, Saturday and Sunday September 22 and 23, 2007. The Blue Ash Airport is located at the corner of Reed Hartman Highway and Glendale Milford / Pfeiffer Road, just north of downtown Blue Ash.
Proceeds from the event benefit Cincinnati Children's Hospital. Admission is $10 at the gate and $8 if tickets are purchased online. Admission is free for children ages 12 and under as well as for military personnel with a military identification card.
Each morning begins with a pancake breakfast from 8am to 11am. A Kid Zone will also be offered both Saturday and Sunday with family friendly food, vendors, airplanes on display, and interactive activities.
The Airport Days highlight will be a three hour long aerial shoe beginning at Noon both Saturday and Sunday, showcasing nationally known pilot performers. Saturday's event will include a car and motorcycle show throughout the day. The Blue Ash Air Show 5K Run, a USA Track and Field sanctioned event, kicks off at 8am on Sunday, September 23. Registration costs $20 and the 5k run benefits Cincinnati Children's and Cincinnati Warbirds.
Heritage Day
On Saturday, October 13, 2007 Heritage Day takes visitors back in time to the 1800's. The event runs from Noon until 6pm at Nature Park, located at 4343 Cooper Road, behind the Municipal and Safety Center.
Heritage Day caters to families with children's activities, a petting zoo, pony rides, food, and music. Carriage rides take guests to the historic Hunt House for a tour. Call (513)745-8550 for more information.
Halloween Walk
A Halloween Walk in the Woods will also take place at Nature Park, located at 4343 Cooper Road, behind the Municipal and Safety Center. On Saturday, October 27 from Noon until 3pm, families with children between the ages of 3 and 10 are encouraged to enjoy the kid friendly Halloween activities and trick or treating. Trick or treating on Halloween in Blue Ash will take place between 6pm and 8pm on Wednesday, October 31, 2007.
Veterans Day Ceremonies
Blue Ash will honor veterans at a Veterans Day Ceremony on Sunday, November 11, 2007 from 10:30am until Noon, at the Veterans Memorial near Hunt Road and Cooper Road. The Ohio Military Band will accompany Colonel Dean Smittle, a Military Analyst for 700 WLW, who will deliver the keynote address. Typically a luncheon follows the ceremony, but due to the Blue Ash Recreation Center construction, the luncheon will not occur in 2007. Call (513)745-8510 for more information.
Rhythm 'n Blue Ash Concert Series
Blue Ash has been home to Raymond Walters College for 40 years and the college features an adult oriented concert series featuring diverse musical artists and comedians. Rhythm n Blue Ash Concert Series shows are at the Muntz Hall Theater at Raymond Walter College on Plainfield Road.
This fall Robinella and the CC String Band will perform on Saturday October 13 at 8pm and the CCM Faculty Jazztet show is Saturday, November 17, at 8pm. Call (513)745-5705 for more information.
An award winning children's series targeting kids ages 3 through 10, is also presented at the Raymond Walters College Theater. The shows are scheduled for between 11am and 2pm on Saturdays.
Classic children's literature author, Shel Silverstein, is the focus on October 13 with 'The Know of Cincinnati - a box of Shel Silverstein.' The November 10 ARTrageous performance scheduled is 'MadCap Puppet Theatre - Dreamweavers.' Call (513)745-5705 for more information.
