Fall Fashion 2009 Style Predictions

This season there will be a lot to be desired as far as splurging on expensive items and purging old out dated trends. Fear not fashionistas! I'm the style prediction expert as you may know by now all of my predictions have come true. This season is going to be a lot fun stirring up eco-friendly cotton and recycled denim. There is much anticipation to see what's in store for the fashion world as well as what's...well...in stores!

1. Denim: You should already have a jean jacket that hopefully you have had for years and haven't worn for a while. Although they made a huge impact this season this piece is a classic and timeless design that really can be worn in any season. Invest in a fantastic jean jacket and you will really see your money go far and that, my friends is what it is all about.

2. Sweaters: Forget the trend of the season. Fall colors are usually a more subdued pallet of browns and greens, more periwinkle and light blues. I say forget that! Go with bright Oranges and Corals. Find your signature color that really makes your skin glow. Dark women can pull off bright greens with yellow in them and grassy emerald tones. Lighter skin women look great in bright pinks and magenta if you have blue undertones in your skin. If you have more yellow tones in your skin you can go for a coral pallet with some peachy pinks and even tomato reds. Just have fun and turn the knob up on the color. These pieces should be washed in cold water so the colors don't fade.

3.T-shirts: Not only are eco-friendly fabrics like recycled cotton trendy, they are soft and feel good on the skin; and are of course great for the environment. There are so many neutral pallets to pick from. Go for a light brown or an off white. Wear them to the gym, under your fabulous jean jacket and brightly colored sweater.

4. Bags: Now a days were are more conscious of how many plastic bags we use on a regular basis. There has been rumors that suggest the possibility of being charged to use plastic sacks in the not so distant future. Now is the time to invest in an over sized bag that can hold your purchases while out to the supermarket. Not only does this serve as a useful fashion piece, its practical. Save those cute sparkly over sized clutches for more appropriate occasions. Those will still be in fashion this season. Grab a beaded grandma's antique clutch at a consignment shop and make a bold statement! Old is the new new!

5. Accessories: as you noticed this Summer were big and bold. Long metal, over sized necklaces flew off the shelves. We opted for big pieces this season so, naturally we will change over to more subdued accessories for fall. Think really cool beads with a lot of color. Maybe jewelry wont be as over sized and dramatic but you will find subtle designs with a lot of details prove to make just as big of a statement.
